Norwich University Future Leader Camp

Registration for Norwich University's Future Leader Camp (FLC) is currently open for current high school students as well as recent graduates planning to attend Norwich University in the fall. FLC is a nine-day, military-style summer program designed to develop leadership skills in high school students and incoming rooks. Participants engage in a rigorous schedule that includes physical fitness sessions, classroom instruction on leadership principles, and hands-on activities such as rappelling, rock climbing, and wilderness survival training. The program aims to build resilience, teamwork, and effective communication skills, providing attendees with a comprehensive understanding of small-group leadership techniques.

The 2025 FLC offers two sessions: Session I from July 12-20, and Session II from July 26 to August 3. Each session costs $1,800, covering uniforms, accommodations, meals, and all activities. A non-refundable deposit of $300 is required upon registration. The program is open to rising high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors. High school graduates who have been accepted to Norwich University and have made their enrollment deposit are also eligible to attend.

Throughout the camp, participants are mentored by current Norwich University cadets and professional leaders, ensuring expert guidance and a transformative experience. The daily schedule begins at 5:30 a.m. with physical training, followed by sessions focusing on individual and team skills. Evening programs include interactive classes on leadership methods, ethics, and effective communication. The camp culminates in challenges such as the Olympic Challenge Course and a drill competition, allowing participants to apply their newly acquired skills in practical scenarios.

For hockey players with an interest in playing NCAA Division III hockey at a military university, attending FLC would provide the ultimate off-ice experience as it relates to student life at Norwich University. Elev802 is hosting their 4th annual Bauer Hockey Camp at Norwich University in July 2025 as well. They’ll be hosting two boys’ sessions running from July 6-11 and July 13-18 along with a girls’ session July 27 through August 1. It would be possible for student athletes to attend both FLC and Elev802 with some coordination and planning ahead. Boys attending Elev802 could attend either FLC session, while girls attending Elev802 would need to attend Session I of FLC.
