The Hill Academy Hockey Program
Founded in 2006, The Hill Academy was established with a clear vision: to create an environment where committed student athletes could thrive both academically and athletically. Situated in Caledon, Ontario, just 45 minutes north of Toronto, the school’s campus spans 134 acres of scenic, forested land that offers a peaceful yet high-performance setting for growth and development. In this post, we will take a closer look at The Hill Academy Hockey Program.
The Hill’s campus features modern classrooms and daily opportunities for outdoor education. Student athletes benefit from exclusive access to top-tier athletic training facilities, including the Hill Performance gym, running and hiking trails, a new turf field, and a dedicated off-site ice rink. For boarding students, the campus also includes a thoughtfully designed residential complex that fosters independence, community, and focus.
Over the years, Hill graduates have gone on to attend some of the world’s most respected academic and athletic institutions. The school attracts students who are not only passionate about their sport but who are also driven to excel in the classroom. At The Hill Academy, students receive the structure, support, and challenge needed to explore their full potential and prepare for success at the next level. Hockey wise, the numbers speak for themselves with 25 and counting in the NHL, 65 and counting having received DI hockey scholarships, and three currently in the PWHL.
For families considering independent school options, The Hill Academy offers a distinctive model that integrates academic rigor with elite athletic training. It was established on the belief that sports are more than competition. They are a powerful platform for developing life skills that shape confident, resilient, and well-rounded individuals.
The school’s daily schedule is intentionally designed to support growth in the classroom, on the field, and in life. Student athletes at Hill develop leadership, problem-solving, grit, and self-discipline. These traits extend far beyond sports. The Academy’s mission centers on preparing students to reach their full potential academically, athletically, and personally. It equips them with the tools to succeed at the next level and throughout life.
